Caring for Vinyl Banners

St-Judes-banner

Banners can be used over and over when kept in good condition. Vinyl banners are durable, but can fade, wear out, or crack over time if not taken care of properly. Here are some rules to follow while caring for vinyl banners:

Cleaning Banners

Whether used inside or outside, banners are probably going to get a little dirty. Generally, all that is needed to clean a vinyl banner is a damp, soft cloth.  Avoid using abrasive materials such as paper towels or sponges to wipe down the banner. Also abstain from using detergents or other aggressive cleaners.

If a damp cloth is not getting all the debris off, try using a mild soap and water solution. Be sure to rinse the banner off thoroughly so there is no soap residue remaining. Make sure the banner is completely dry before storing it. If water is left on the banner, it could develop mildew while in storage.

Storing Your Company Banner

Proper storage of vinyl banners also ensures they stay in good condition. Store the banner in a container in a dry, cool place out of the sunlight. Avoid folding the banner so colors do not rub off on each other and it does not develop creases. If space is limited in the storage space, roll the banner up instead of folding. There’s less of a chance of it getting damaged when rolled.

Following these precautions when caring for a vinyl banner will ensure it remains in good condition for many years and events to come.
