Park and Public Space Signage

Park-Signs

Creating a park or other type of public space includes a lot of little details. One of these details that should not be overlooked is signage for the area. On a basic level, this signage will provide information and direction. It can also encourage learning, set and maintain an image, communicate rules, and more.

Location of these signs is key to meeting specific goals and needs set forth in the public space. Placing them near other amenities like benches, restrooms and more is a good way to achieve these goals. They have a larger impact when placed in conjunction with other features in the space.

A few different types of signs needed for parks and public spaces are:

  1. Maps

To help visitors stay oriented to their surroundings and know how to find certain locations within the area, maps are needed at the entry points as well as set distances. Maps guide visitors and highlight points of interest.

  1. Educational Signs

Inform visitors of events that happened in a certain spots or other unique aspects of the space. They can also be a way to let visitors know the rules of the area such as all pets need to be on leashes.

  1. Directional Signage

To help visitors find the right path or location, directional signage should be posted throughout the area. They can be near landmarks, where trails split off, close to restrooms, etc.

Signage in public spaces needs to be designed in a way that will catch attention while being informative and placed in the right areas. Infinity Signs NW can help figure out the types of signage needed, design and produce the signs, and install them.

They can also develop site project signs while the space is being built and designed. Visit Infinity Signs NW’s website to see some of their previous work.

Trade Show Signage

Trade Show Signs BoiseTrade shows are very important for small businesses to grow. They allow a business to promote themselves to hundreds of potential clients, forge new contracts, and market their products and services. For trade shows to be beneficial, businesses need a good booth exhibit and that starts with signage.

What makes a good trade show sign? Here are some guidelines to consider while working with Infinity Signs NW to create trade show signage:

  1. Size

A small sign isn’t going to attract as many people as a larger sign simply because it’s less noticeable. A large sign, such as a banner, that stretches across the length of the booth is a good size.

  1. Position

Some booths have multiple signs, which can affect how they are positioned. However, the sign that the company wants to be the primary focus should be positioned high above the booth or in front of the booth space. This will make it stand out among the crowds and other displays.

  1. Typography

Signs need to be easily readable from both far away and close up. This means using a clear, concise font. Avoid elaborate fonts with tails and swirls. Sans Serif fonts are the best for most types of signage.

  1. Colors

It is important to have contrast between the text and background so the sign can be read without straining the eyes.  Avoid two dark colors or two light colors together. This includes the business logo.

  1. Message

You will want the message on your sign or banner to be short and to the point. Frequently, a large sign with the company name, logo, and tagline is enough to interest potential clients.

Effective Signage Tips for New Businesses

Exterior business signs

When opening a business in a new location, one of the most important aspects to plan for is the signage. It has been found that 50% of business for start-up companies comes from sign exposure. This means having effective signage is crucial for a new business.

An effective sign not only has to be designed well, but it needs to be implemented in the right way. Here are some tips on design and implementation of signs:

Design

When designing a sign, new businesses need to take these factors into consideration: color, materials, contrast and size. The team at Infinity Signs NW can make design process suggestions to help create the best sign possible. Many of the design decisions will depend on budget and the building constraints.

Implementation

How the sign is implemented might be even more important than the design. Even if a sign is expertly designed, if it is not properly placed or installed then the design will be ineffective. Here are some implementation tips:

  • Viewpoint

The sign needs to be seen easily for it to be effective. Retail stores often place their signs high above the building to attract customers who may be passing by on the street. Other types of businesses might be better served with signage that is at eye level.

  • Placement

It can be worth it to experiment with signage placements before making the installation permanent. Ask customers for their preferences and see where the sign is most effective.

  • Regulations

There are regulations, permits and building codes that surround business signage. These factors need to be taken into consideration before the design process even starts. City ordinances can have an enormous impact on the type of sign and how large it can be.

Signage can have a tremendous influence on attracting customers, which is important for new businesses. Talk to Infinity Signs NW about creating effective business signage for new businesses in Boise and throughout the Treasure Valley.

Teardrop and Feather Banner Benefits

Teardrop and feather flag signs can draw a lot of attention to an event or business and can be seen pretty commonly around Boise and the Treasure Valley. Businesses and organizations are realizing that these are a great option because they are:

  1. Easy to Transport

When compared to other styles of banners, they are much easier to transport due to their size and weight. Easy transportation is essential for many businesses or events that set up on their own or move around frequently.

2. Easy to Set Up

Forget ladders and stringing a banner up on a building. With feather or teardrop flags, simply set up the easy-to-assemble banner stands and attach the flags. Or, some prefer to simply push the bottom of the feather banner pole directly into the soft ground. It’s a quick and painless process.

3. Affordable

This type of signage is very affordable, but the quality is still high. For short-term events, an affordable banner like these makes sense. They can also easily be stored and re-used for reoccurring annual or monthly events.

4. Sturdy

Since these signs wave in the wind, they are designed and made to withstand the elements that Idaho experiences. This helps them have a long lifespan and stay looking new for quite a while.

5. Customizable

Feather and teardrop flags can come in different sizes and colors for every type of event. They can also be personalized with a message to pique interest in the event.

The uses for teardrop or feather flag signs is endless. Some of the most common uses for them include sales, car dealerships, new housing developments, and flea markets. While most often used outdoors, they can also be utilized indoors as well. They are an excellent way to draw attention to a booth space at a large tradeshow.

Properly Cleaning Vehicle Wraps

CFD1-300x200

Proper cleaning and care of your Vehicle wrap  will protect your investment. It also prolongs their life and maintains a high quality of appearance. Read on to learn how to properly take care of vehicle graphics.

Do:

  • Wash with a mixture of water and a mild wash or detergent
  • Test the cleaning solution on a small spot before washing the entire area
  • Read warning labels on car care products

Don’t

  • Allow fuels to stay in contact with the wrap for extended periods of time
  • Use mechanical brush washing as it could dull, scratch, or lift the edges of the graphic
  • Use automated car washes that use caustic cleaners or pressure washers

If normal cleaning procedures fail to get difficult pollutants or debris off of the vehicle wrap, try these two options:

  1. Spot clean the area with Isopropyl Alcohol and a microfiber cloth, or
  2. Moisten the cloth with a citric-based cleaner and naphtha before wiping down the area. Rinse with water and soap immediately afterward.

The best way to wash vehicle wraps or graphics is as follows:

  1. Rinse with water to wash away any loose sediments or debris with a spray nozzle
  2. Mix the mild detergent and water in a large bucket
  3. Soak the sponge in the mixture and begin working from top to bottom
  4. Rinse with clean water again using the spray nozzle
  5. Allow the vehicle to air dry or use a microfiber cloth

Although hand washing is the preferred method, pressure washing the vehicle can be done following these instructions:

  • Water pressure is kept below 2000 psi
  • Water temperature is below 180 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Use a spray nozzle with a 40-degree wide angle spray pattern
  • Keep the nozzle at least one foot away from and perpendicular to the graphic
