Benefits of Vinyl Wrapping a Boat

boat-wraps-3

Vinyl wrapping boats is a fun new trend that’s really going to be hot this summer.  While it’s certainly a great way to advertise for upcoming events or boat friendly clubs and restaurants, it’s also incredibly practical for the everyday boat owner as well.  Owning a boat can be high maintenance and expensive but a vinyl wrap can help with both of those issues. Take a look at some of the great benefits of getting your boat wrapped and consider giving Infinity Signs a call to get started designing your beautiful new boat look.

  1. Cost – the cost for a vinyl wrap is generally about a third of the cost of a professional paint spray job!
  2. Low Maintenance – no more buffing and polishing, simply use soap and water to clean. If the boat gets scratched or dented there’s no need to replace the entire wrap, in most cases a simple patch can be used to restore the original look.  A common question from customers has been whether the vinyl will lift or peel at all.  This should not be an issue for professionally installed vinyl wraps.
  3. Fast – most wraps can be completed in just a day or two which will reduce yard time and thus total cost for the project.
  4. Eco-Friendly – unlike toxic marine paints vinyl wraps use no chemicals or solvents, making it a much eco-friendlier option.
  5. Longevity – most wraps last up to 7 years, similar to a marine paint job. Vinyl has the added benefit of being more fade resistant than paint as well, meaning it will look great for all 7 years.
  6. Appearance – when your boat’s in the water no one will be able to tell whether you have a vinyl wrap or a new paint job, so why pay more? The wrap is also completely reversible.  If you try a new design and decide you’re not crazy about it, we can simply remove it.  In fact, a side benefit to the wrap is that it will preserve the original paint job on the boat and improve the resale value.
  7. Totally Unique – you can completely customize the look of your boat with a vinyl wrap. Virtually anything your imagination comes up with can be created!

Now is a great time to get started on your custom vinyl boat wrap.  As the summer season approaches our professional installers are going to start getting booked so beat the rush and get started today.

Getting the Most Out Of A Vehicle Wrap

Vehicle Wrap

A vehicle wrap is a business investment. To get the most of that investment, it needs to be well maintained. Knowing what to avoid and how to properly clean a vehicle wrap will keep it in optimal condition for years to come.

Cleaning Tips

Cleaning a vehicle wrap is easy. Simply use water and a gentle automotive detergent. Scrub it with a soft cloth and rinse after. Dry it with a microfiber cloth or towel to minimize water spots. It should be cleaned at least once a week or more depending on how much dirt and pollutants the vehicle is exposed to.

For spot cleaning, use isopropyl rubbing alcohol and rinse with cool water. This will take care of any small areas that may have gotten something splashed on them.

What to Avoid

Avoid taking the vehicle through a carwash with brushes. The brushes can be too harsh on the wrap, causing lifting or peeling of the edges.

Avoid pressure washing the vehicle over 2,000 psi. As long as it stays under 2,000 psi, with a 40 degree wide angle spray pattern, the wrap will be fine. Keep the water temperature below 140 degrees Fahrenheit and keep the nozzle 12 inches away from the vehicle.

It’s best to avoid leaving the vehicle outside for an excessive amount of time. The outdoor elements like debris and pollutants can cause damage to the wrap, especially the trunk lid, roof, or hood. These areas can attract pollutants easily. Parking under cover when possible or in shady areas when cover isn’t available will really extend the life of your vehicle wrap.

The better a car or truck wrap looks, the more people it attracts. Get the most advertising possible out of a wrap by keeping it well-maintained so it lasts for year to come. Infinity Signs NW can answer any other questions about caring for vehicle wrap.

Properly Cleaning Vehicle Wraps

Proper cleaning and care of your Vehicle wrap  will protect your investment. It also prolongs their life and maintains a high quality of appearance. Read on to learn how to properly take care of vehicle graphics.

Do:

  • Wash with a mixture of water and a mild wash or detergent
  • Test the cleaning solution on a small spot before washing the entire area
  • Read warning labels on car care products

Don’t

  • Allow fuels to stay in contact with the wrap for extended periods of time
  • Use mechanical brush washing as it could dull, scratch, or lift the edges of the graphic
  • Use automated car washes that use caustic cleaners or pressure washers

If normal cleaning procedures fail to get difficult pollutants or debris off of the vehicle wrap, try these two options:

  1. Spot clean the area with Isopropyl Alcohol and a microfiber cloth, or
  2. Moisten the cloth with a citric-based cleaner and naphtha before wiping down the area. Rinse with water and soap immediately afterward.

The best way to wash vehicle wraps or graphics is as follows:

  1. Rinse with water to wash away any loose sediments or debris with a spray nozzle
  2. Mix the mild detergent and water in a large bucket
  3. Soak the sponge in the mixture and begin working from top to bottom
  4. Rinse with clean water again using the spray nozzle
  5. Allow the vehicle to air dry or use a microfiber cloth

Although hand washing is the preferred method, pressure washing the vehicle can be done following these instructions:

  • Water pressure is kept below 2000 psi
  • Water temperature is below 180 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Use a spray nozzle with a 40-degree wide angle spray pattern
  • Keep the nozzle at least one foot away from and perpendicular to the graphic

Designing Vehicle Wraps

bbb-car-wrap

Vehicle wraps can receive hundreds of impressions in just one mile of driving around town. Their low cost-per-impression makes them a popular choice for businesses trying to build their brand. Vehicle wrap designs are extremely diverse and personal to the company, but there are still some rules to follow when thinking of a design.

  1. Have a Great Brand

Vehicle wraps should include a strong, identifiable brand and logo to make them easy to recognize. Infinity Signs NW can also help design a great logo for a new business or re-design a logo for a business wanting to update their brand. A great logo will enhance any vehicle wrap.

  1. Limited Text

The text on a vehicle wrap needs to be simple and concise so people have time to read and remember the information. The more text it has, the harder it will be for a person to remember what they read. A good rule of thumb is to only include the brand, tagline, and web address or phone number.

  1. Stand Out

Designing can get overcomplicated with details that in the end just create visual noise that just muddles the message. A simple wrap that makes an impact with a great logo and good text and color contrast will stand out way more than one that has all the bells and whistles.

Creating custom, stand-out vehicle graphics is a specialty of Infinity Signs NW. We can create a vehicle wrap for many different types of vehicles including:

  • Cars
  • Trucks
  • Box Trucks
  • Vans
  • Trailer
  • Food Trucks
  • Motorcycles
  • Boats

Custom Mini Fridges

Infinity Signs NW can wrap just about anything, even refrigerators. The vinyl wraps are easy to clean, can withstand the wear and tear that comes with college life, and can even be removed, if necessary.

Here are some fridge wrap ideas:

Sports Teams

For those dedicated to their sport and team, Infinity Signs can design a wrap that will show off their pride.  Football, baseball, soccer, hockey, you name it and they can create it. Whether it’s the team logo or their favorite player, it will be sure to show off their team pride.

School Spirit

Use a fridge wrap to show off their excitement about the college they’re attending. Use the school logo, mascot, or seal to decorate the vinyl wrap. Their room could be the envy of the whole dorm floor!

Sorority or Fraternity

Let students show off their Greek pride with a fridge wrap dedicated to their new fraternity or sorority. It can be a fun way for them to show off their letters, colors, sorority/fraternity animal, and more.

Retro

Retro designs are always in. Turn their mini fridge into an old Coca-Cola machine, or an old gas pump. It will be a blast from the past.

Outdoors

For a student who loves all things outdoors, consider a wrap that features a picturesque mountain scene, a forest, or some camo if they love hunting.

Give their college dorm room a little added customization with a vinyl wrap for the mini fridge. Or wrap the fridge at home that’s in a man cave or workshop. Either way, Infinity Signs NW can make any idea a reality.
